Music has always been another way for me to tell stories. Many of the songs featured here were written between 2009 and 2010 as part of the album A Never Ending Walk, exploring memory, reflection, humor, and the small moments that stay with us long after everything else fades. Their storytelling style makes them well suited for visual media and creative projects. Available for licensing in: •film, commercials, broadcast licensing, sports walk-up music, etc. For licensing inquiries or permissions, please contact through this site. Selected tracks can also be previewed below. -Rob🎵
BEHIND THE MUSIC
In 2009, I formed a band called XXRUB. The name came from a “beer cheer” my friends and I used in college — criss-crossing the bottles then rubbing them together as we toasted. With the band, I recorded two albums between 2009 and 2010: Someday Never Comes and A Never Ending Walk. From the beginning, the goal wasn’t commercial success. It was something more personal — creating music simply for the sake of the art. Writing, arranging, recording, and producing the songs became an incredibly rewarding creative experience. All of the music was recorded in a professional studio in Los Angeles. I produced the sessions independently and funded the entire project myself. As a result, I retain full ownership and rights to the recordings. During that time we played several live shows, including a performance at BB Kings at Universal CityWalk in Hollywood, where a crowd of nearly 400 people showed up. For one night, we felt like rock stars. Today I’m revisiting those recordings and making select songs available for licensing and streaming, so they can find new life in film, television, podcasts, advertising, and other creative projects. Music has always been one of my favorite forms of storytelling — and now I’m excited to share these songs with the world. -Rob

The Girl Who SatNext To Me.
The Smartest Song in History
(According to the guy who wrote it.)
A reflective reggae song about memory, love, and the strange way we remember life’s most important moments. Moving through philosophy, theology, and history, the narrator realizes that despite everything he learned in school, the one thing he remembers most clearly is the girl who sat next to him. The song blends nostalgia and storytelling with a warm tone suited for films, documentaries, and coming-of-age stories.
Lyrics:
Aristotle thought, he was all that. They even called it a name, Aristocrat. His friend drank the poison, and that was that. All this time they thought, the world was flat. That's all I remember about Philosophy. I can't even remember the guy who taught it to me. I just remember the girl who sat next to me. And I know that it's true, that I still love you!
Adam was the first, then came Eve. You know we used to live in heaven, then we were asked to leave. When David killed Goliath, he made him pay. Then Baby Jesus was born on Christmas Day! That's all I remember about Theology. I can't even remember the guy who taught it to me. I just remember the girl who sat next to me. And I know that it's true, that I still love you!
Abraham Lincoln! He was shot in the head! Martin Luther King, they also shot him dead. Then you know the Kennedys, enough said. Say you want peace and social justice? Maybe you should do something else instead. That's all I remember about History. I can't even remember the guy who taught it to me. I just remember the girl who sat next to me. And I know, that it's true, that I still love you! And I still love you...
WHEN THE WORLD WAS FLAT
"An epic rock anthem inspired by exploration, courage, and the spirit of discovery."
Lyrics:
Not so long ago, when the world was flat. My momma wore her dresses and my daddy wore the hat. I can still remember, deep inside my brain I would ask my momma if I could play in the rain. I would play in the rain for hours Play in the rain, play in the rain. Play in the rain, play in the rain. I would play in the rain for hours.
Early afternoon, when the rain is gone. Looking up to the sky couldnt come too soon. Sometimes its a rainbow, sometimes its a ring. The clouds, they move across the sky forming everything. I would stare at the clouds for hours. Stare at the clouds, stare at the clouds. Stare at the clouds, stare at the clouds. I would stare at the clouds for hours.
Early in the evening, just before the dark. All my childhood friends would meet me at the park. Swinging on steel, sliding on cement.I would play forever even past sunset. I would play with my friends for hours. Play with my friends, play with my friends. Play with my friends, play with my friends. I would play with my friends for hours.
Not so long ago, when the world was flat!
Do It Again is about the stubborness of man and God's will to love and support man unconditionally.
LYRICS:
I was there when you hit the ground. I was there when you cut your skin You cried and you looked around. It was then when I held you in. Then I saw your face, I can feel the pain. You fell into disgrace, but you get up and you do it again, do it again I know you'll do it again.
It was then when you carried me, uncovered my mistakes. The sacrifice it takes, I was blind and you helped me see. Then I saw your face, I can feel the pain. You fell into disgrace, but you get up and you do it again, do it again. I know you'll do it again, I know you'll do it again.Love makes you do it again
Ignorance is bliss, betrayed with a kiss. Judas was a friend, but I know, he'll do it again, do it again. There's a lesson here somewhere. We all know what it is, so obvious we don't care. But we get up and we do it again, do it again, I know we'll do it again, I know we'll do it again. Love makes us do it again
MAYBE LYRICS
Maybe it’s time to go, maybe I never deserved this world. Maybe it’s letting me know, maybe one foot is already out the door. Maybe, maybe.
Chorus: Where do we go? When mountains clash and fall to the sea, the tragedy! When comets fall from the sky, it’s destiny. Where do we go when the love is gone, and the sun begins to die.
Maybe I have no soul, maybe the twilight is where I belong. Maybe my heart has a hole, maybe everything I know is wrong. Maybe, maybe! Chorus
Tell me where to go, when the sun begins to die. Tell me where to go?The sky is falling! The sky is falling! The sky is calling on you!
Maybe, maybe!
